| I ( Atul Kahate) am working with Oracle Financial Services Software Limited (formerly i-flex solutions limited - www.oracle.com/financialservices), Pune as Head-Technology Practice, PrimeSourcingTM Division. I have been involved in many IT projects in different capacities, apart from being a teacher and author of a few books on technology ranging from Cryptography and Network Security to Object Oriented Analysis and Design. Beyond technology, I am a passionate cricket follower and have officiated as a Statistician in international matches. My cricket related articles have been a regular feature on all leading newspapers and Web sites. I have also done a series of programs on SAAM Marathi (a TV channel belonging to "Sakaal" newspaper) for explaining technology for a very common person in Marathi language, and also on IBN Lokmat TV channel. I am an avid music fan - especially Indian classical. I strongly believe that super-humans such as Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Ganasaraswati Kishori Amonkar, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Kumar Gandharva, Bismilla Khan, Zakir Hussain, Rashid Khan have made our life far more beautiful! Of course, I equally admire (old) Hindi film music - Lata, Rafi, Asha, Kishore, Manna Dey, to name a few greats from this arena. These days, of course, no one come close to Suresh Wadkar. I am a passionate reader of computers/technology, science, finance/economics, and to some extent art and literature (altough I must admit, I am very shallow in the last two, at the moment :-(). I am amazed by the writing skills of people such as Andrew Tanenbaum, Douglas Comer, Behrouz Forouzan, Achyut Godbole, Kumar Ketkar, John Gribbin, Bill Bryson, Anil Avchat, Nilu Damle, Shirish Kanekar, Desmond Morris to name a few from various fields. Of course, it is needless to mention PuLa Deshpande, Acharya Atre, DaMa Mirasdar, Vyankatesh Madgulkar, Vinda, and other greats -- they are there by default! My greatest aim is to simplify things that I know for others, all the time. I am most grateful to Mr Achyut Godbole for being my idol in a number of ways, and it is him who has had the greatest influence on my life. I am tempted to modify/delete the following portion attributable to my SICSR students. However, for a change, I have decided not to be modest :-) - "Being an ideal mentor he is extremely popular with his students for his tremendous knowledge, helpful nature and a perpetually smiling face. Known for his punctuality and discipline he is a perfect role model for anyone aspiring to reach heights in the Big Bad world of IT." This site is an attempt to put whatever little I have been able to do in different fields in a slightly better organized manner.
